EAT BIG APPLE
Oficina Latina is a nolita eatery inspired by the cuisines along the 1950s Pan American highway. The space has a vintage feel, delineated into small sections–bar, living room, dining room, cafe–all brought together by a gilded ceiling. It was a lot to take in at once, even with my barely alcoholic blackberry pina colada, but there was definitely some method to the design madness.
Oficina Latina
The place is known for its cocktails, but personally I found them to be fun but short of mind blowing. I had only one or two, and I heard good things about the ginger lychee mojito – so not all is lost. I’ll be back for brunch to venture deeper into their cocktail menu. Something to note, there are hundreds of rums and tequilas, but only one lone vodka and gin for the die hard drinkers. Worry not, more on your options later

I’ve had Oficina Latina bookmarked for several months now, so imagine my excitement when I was invited to a press dinner to finally check out what they have to offer. As soon as I walked in, I knew I was in for a fabulous evening. The decor used vintage office furniture and items, yet managed to be inviting and welcoming. (Note: the photo above is the only one not taken by me, I always have a hard time with interior shots in a dark and bustling restaurant).
Oficina Latina: The New York Stop on the Pan-American Highway – The Daily Meal
Oficina Latina quietly opened its doors in October, 2010 in New York’s SoHo neighborhood (on Prince Street between Mott and Elizabeth Streets), and it’s offering up some seriously hearty, authentic fare influenced by stops along the Pan-American Highway, which originally ran from Monterrey, Mexico, all the way down to Argentina.
Oficina Latina – A Delicious Stop off the Pan American Highway by Foodikta
Last week, I was invited to a fabulous tasting at Oficina Latina, one of my favorite Nolita haunts. This place is quite special, as I remember enjoying it on multiple occasions during the summertime – really loving their drinks and the anything but run-of-the-mill Pan Latin cuisine. I was joined by other foodie colleagues such as Daniel from The Daily Meal and Here’s Park Slope, Elena from The Gotham Palate, Josh Beckerman the Foodie Magician, among others. Together, we embarked on a delicious Pan Latin food adventure that set our tastebuds aflutter.
