LA Cetto’s Nebbiolo (Mexico)
Nebbiolo. Probably haven’t heard of it, have you? Well, you should. Nebbiolo’s history is traced to Italy and is one of the more popular reds of Italy’s Piedmont region.
LA Cetto’s Nebbiolo, from Baja’s Guadalupe Valley, is one of the best examples of the variety found in the US. When you have an opportunity to taste this Nebbiolo, you will immediately want to order more!
Nebbiolo is comparable to better known varieties like Barolo and Bararesco. Because early in its bottling Nebbiolo is often quite tannic, it is often aged and usually much softer after several years of careful shelf care. Most quality Nebbiolos are aged 4-5 years prior to being marketed.
Nebbiolo grapes are hard to cultivate, As a result, the wines are often priced with that difficulty in mind. A typical Nebbiolo typically begins at $15.00 and can rapidly escalate higher. But, the cost is worth it with a good Nebbiolo.
A good Nebbiolo is outstanding with strong beef meals. BBQ’ed steaks are an outstanding compliment to this wine.
Typically you will find a hint of cherry on the nose and that is the sign of a quality Nebbiolo. LA Cetto’s Nebbiolo is a great example of this trait
OFICINA LATINA is featuring LA Cetto’s since 2010.
